Day 1 of the Canadian Freeskiing Championships is a wrap and the Blasters had a rough one.  A few head over heel crashes, a hip check and getting tangled in the trees lead to only Arne Backstrom making it to the next round.  Arne skied near the end of the pack and came down with a super solid and original line that got him a Sick Bird Nomination and a 3rd place position going into the final day.  The event has been competitive with an unusual cut of only 20 men and 7 women going into Day 2.  Since today is a weather day we will have to wait til Sunday for the final outcome.  The finalists will be taken to the venue via helicopter so it should be exciting.   For full results and live webcasts check out FreeskiingWorldTour.com.
