Adam Ruscitto and Miles Clark getting after it down the road @ Alpine Medows. Looks like tons of fun guys. Thanks for the stoke!
My buddy Adam and I strolled into the Alpine Meadows side-country on the last day of 2009 to see what we could find. Well, we found plenty. With all of the Hike-to-terrain inbounds still closed, we decided to head out to Munchkins in search of some fresh turns. The wind was ferocius on the ridge, and the top of M2 was getting scoured, so we dropped into Bluddy Knuckles on the other side of the ridge. A ski cut released a slab of fresh wind deposited snow off the top. Locating our safe zones we were able to pick our way through some really fun terrain features. With temperatures on the rise and the sun beating down on the snow, we made the call to boot back up to the top for a another run, before skiiing out to the bottom and hitching a ride back to the resort. When we finally made our way back to the lifts, the hikes were open and we finished our day off with a lap from the top of Estelle bowl down into the Butress, and ending in the parking lot, all while listening to Truckee Tribe blasting solid tunes from the Alpine base area.
