Over the last four seasons one would be hard pressed not to have noticed the explosion that is magna traction to our industry. Mervin manufacturing has always made high quality and durable products and with the invention of magna traction they nailed it. The concept is simple and the inspiration up for debate, (I think it was a late night Ore-Ida french frie fest). Seven contact points “turns ice into powder” like the adds want us to believe. I have been on a Lib Tech with magna traction for three seasons now and can truly say that I am a believer. A huge difference is immediately noticed when rippin down a sketch mountain run or a fast Siberia lap. There is a feeling of confidence that is instilled with the additional contact points. Smokin Snowboards and Rossignol have both adopted a form of the magna traction to their line ups. Our own Timmy Dutton has wins at both Kirkwood and Alyeska on the the Lib Tech NAS Pow Recurves. Also, the Jones Pro Model from Rossignol for the last two season has had magna traction. With atheletes including; Rice, Landvick, Kass, Wilson all doing big things on Magna Traction, it is definitely something checking out. Lets hear some feedback. Who else here has tried the NAS (narrow ass snowboards) or boards from mervin with magna traction. Lets us know what you think people.
