In less then two weeks a contingent of the UnofficialSquaw Crew will be heading down to Antarctica for a ski expedition / photo shoot. Here is the itinerary of our adventure which is set to kick off November 1st. Day 1: Arrive in Ushuaia, Argentina. Day 2: Board the Clipper Adventurer and set sail down the Beagle Channel. Day 3-4: Cross the Drake Passage. Arrive at Deception Island’s volcanic crater on the afternoon of Day 4 for a hike. Day 5: Ski objective at Neko Harbour. Day 6: Ski objective at Anvers and Wienke Islands. Day 7: Ronge Island/Mt. Britannia. Day 8: Ski objective in Paradise Bay. Day 9: Lemaire Channel/ Mt. Scott/ Mt. Demaria/Mt. Mill ski descents. Day 10: First descents in Crystal Sound; begin journey north in the evening. Day 11-12: Sail Drake Passage Day 13: Disembark Clipper Adventurer in Ushuaia, Argentina. The Antarctic Peninsula, which extends out towards South America, is a rarely hit ski destination. We are all super pumped on this amazing expedition which is being lead by Truckee local Doug Stoup and Ice Axe Expedition. So be sure to keep track of our Antartic adventure starting November 1st.
