FYI to the Unofficial Community, just found this on the Sierra Sun website. OLYMPIC VALLEY â?” A new museum is the works to display the history of the 1960 Winter Olympic Games and skiing. The Squaw Valley Ski Museum Foundation is holding a public presentation on the plans for the new museum on Monday, June 22, from 6 p.m. to 7:40 p.m. at the Squaw Valley Public Service District (the new Squaw Valley firehouse) at 305 Squaw Valley Road. The presentation will include a survey of potential sites for the museum, exhibition themes, gallery concepts, a conceptual building plan, interpretive plan and operational plan. The Foundation is also asking the public to help locate, collect, preserve and exhibit objects, photographs, personal stories and artifacts related to the 1960 Winter Games and winter sports history of the western United States.
