Here is the latest weather outlook from our good friends over at Tahoeloco.com
May 14, 2009
Tahoe will remain on the cool side today, under the influence of a low-pressure system moving out of the Pacific Northwest that is bringing rain to Northern California. We could see some cloud cover- and some stiff breezes,- but don’t expect any precipitation as far south as Interstate 80.
By Friday a ridge of high pressure will begin building along the coast of California, and as it spreads inland, the entire region will begin to bake. High temperatures are forecast to rise several degrees each day, and by Sunday we could be seeing some temperatures in the 80s around Tahoe.
The Sacramento Valley will be touching 100, and Western Nevada will be in the 90s. There will be a chance of thunderstorms along the Sierra Crest, but mostly south of the Tahoe Basin. Sunday should be the peak for high temperatures.
Computer forecast models suggest the high pressure will begin to break down by Monday, but the models are in conflict on what comes next. One shows a cool trough of low pressure from the Gulf of Alaska moving our way early next week. The other shows that trough staying to our north but a subtropical depression influencing us from the south. Either way it looks like Monday will bring a change from the hotter and drier stretech into which we are now heading….
