FYI - World War II bomber making a stop at Truckee Tahoe Airport this weekend

By

bilde In order to prevent the mass hysteria that went down in NY earlier this week when an Air Force 1 backup being trailed by a fighter jet buzzed the NYC skyline, we figured we would do our part in spreading the word of this weekends events. A World War II bomber is making a stop at Truckee Tahoe Airport next week. The Aluminum Overcast, B-17 bomber restored by the Experimental Aircraft Association, will be flying into Truckee Tahoe Airport for ground tours and flights on May 5 and 6. If anyone see’s this bomber fly over head, DO NOT PANIC – WE ARE NOT BEING INVADED. While we’re on the subject, if you are in Tahoe long enough you will notice that the lake gets frequent flyovers by military aircraft – my guess would be coming from the nearby Tonopah Test Range Airport southeast of Carson City.- However, I have heard many rumors of a civilian owning a light grey Russian fighter jet and he even keeps it a Truckee Airport.- I’m not sure as to the accuracy of this, but I have definitly seen it flying over Squaw on occassion.- If anyone knows anything, we’d be interested to hear in the comments.
