No, it’s not the promised, built, never-to-open Nova’s that’s been an eyesore across from Surefoot for what seems like the past two years.- It’s Cornice Cantina! Located in the old red dog building, Cornice Cantina serves a variety of simple mexican dishes priced from $5 – $10. I’m yet to check it out, but from what people have told, the nachos are really good. The best part – $1 shifters (i.e. first beers a buck if you say you just got off work) of PBR!- I’ve also heard that it was opened by the same people that own Lakeside in Tahoe City, so potentially could turn out to be a good chill spot (one of the few left) for the valley.
