FOUR TO 10 INCHES OF SNOW IS FORECAST FOR THE WEST SLOPE OF THE SIERRA NEVADA OVERNIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL INITIALLY BE AROUND 5500 FEET…THEN WILL LOWER AS A FAST MOVING COLD FRONT MOVES OVER THE AREA TONIGHT. LOCAL WIND GUSTS 40 TO 50 MPH ARE ALSO EXPECTED OVER THE HIGHER MOUNTAIN PEAKS. ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 2 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ON MONDAY AS SHOWERS LINGER OVER THE AREA…FOR A TOTAL ACCUMULATION OF 6 TO 12 INCHES.
