Today was another great day of skiing at Squaw Valley. The Sun was shining bright today and there was plenty of fresh still hidden here and there. Mainline Pocket and GCP were open today with plenty of skiers getting after it. Lower mountain held lots of uncut snow off Red Dog and a few other spots. We were definitely feeling the bottom on some turns but others were nice and deep.

On another note, where is everybody? It’s official, Squaw Valley is a ghost town. Don’t get me wrong I love it. No lift lines and tons of snow for the few skiers who are here, but really where is everyone? I think it is safe to say that the days of Squaw Valley being known for powder days that last 2 hours are gone. We are two day’s without new snow and there is still clean landings and pow turns all over.

If you are heading up tomorrow take a look over at VIP’s. There is still some good stashes of light snow over on that side of the hill.

From the Mountain Updates:

1:20: Lower mountain is skiing great with less tracks.

11:36: mainline is open. You can feel the bottom more today but there is still snow and chop all over the mountain..

10:19: After a very cold night the snow is still in great shape. Bluebird.
