I’m with Barry, that’s lame! I sure the guy is a talented driver, but the engineers’s pretty much had the only part that involved any skill. He just gave it gas, held it straight and held on.
100+ years of automobiles….billions and billions of people after the invention of the automobile…dozens of different type of cars, models, and speeds….and finally 1 guy gets the balls to keep flipping the car until its successful….for that alone….man deserves around of applause…engineers involved or not…(and engineers have been involved in all other unsuccessful attempts also) so hats off to the engineers who finally got it right as well…
Those who are unimpressed are all completely jaded. If it was so easy why is this the first time someone has done it? How about the fact someone died recently back flipping a large motorized vehicle in the X games. If you want to get into an argument about motorized sports versus gravity sports fine but lets keep some perspective here. He built most of the car and he is the first to backflip. It is a record. as cool as any other backflip.
That’s one hell of a hole he left on the landing. Hope he patches it up for the next guy.

Monster Trucks have been doing backflips on Static ramps for the last couple years… This was pretty cool though since he went ramp to ramp!
