When are we going to get some f*cking SNOW!!! That’s what I want to know. And what’s the snowpack like? Who gives a shit? I ain’t skiing on it. And the touring is the shits as well. Ok, ok, language. Sorry. On to business:
The CAA and WhistlerBlackcomb are calling the Whistler backcountry and the Pemberton area:
LOW with MODERATE above treeline for the Sea to Sky Corridor
We still have some deep instabilities lurking about in the bottom of the snowpack but nothing has been moving in a while. Be careful in rocky terrain but otherwise things are pretty tight out there. It’s a good time to get out and do the Spearhead Traverse in a day or maybe go and ski one of the classic lines of the South Coast. Fissile, Mt Fitzsimmons and Wedge await. And if you’re not into that…well get yer bike out! The riding in Pemberton is awesome right now. Firm, tacky and dry.
It does look like we might start to get into a bit of a storm flow on Saturday but the weather models are arguing a little so we’ll have to wait and see. Let’s hope we have one of those epic March storm months where the snow is deep and the sun comes out. And if not, maybe the Bike Park will open early…
Be safe and ski hard.
