This video comes from our sister site gCaptain.com and has had a big impact. This video allows you to feel some of the emotions the crew members are engaged in.
Put yourself on a ship in the middle of the Ocean with nothing around. Pirates roll up on 2 small skiffs. You have a large gun and know how to use it.
Would you shoot and kill the approaching pirates? Or not shoot at them (essentially allowing them to board) and take your chances?
So, would you shoot these pirates? or & let ‘em board?
Good for them. I would have done roughly the same thing. Although I doubt I would have called for “warning shots”.
On a side note – those aren’t terribly big guns. Just run of the mill AR-15s.
I’d have no problem shooting to kill
Shoot to wound. It will teach them a lesson they will remember… If they survive
That’s simply not realistic.
yeah i think that might piss them off even more haha.
When I used to live in the Bay Area, a police officer once told me, (while he was filling out the police report, I had asked him about the “hypothetical” possibility of me having to protect myself with my .357 Magnum), “whatever you do, don’t wound them, ….dead men tell no lies, …..if you get my drift.”.
I could not shoot a pirate unless it was Davey Jones, or Barbosa, or I guess the bad guys in the new movie…………
shoot or get shot
This.
No I would rather get robbed and murdered than shoot someone. Good question though.
I saw a cat with no tail cross my street today while I was eating cereal before work. We made eye contact and it was nice.
Was it tan and on the North end of the lake?
leave em for dead..no sweat
Dual-Phantoms (silenced). N64 Golden-Eye, Frigate.
I would shoot to hit (not necessarily kill), but I would aim for more lead in the boat than the ocean.
was thinking the exact same thing
Only if I could have a taxidermist do a realistic mount, so I could hang him on my trophy wall.
Anybody who says they’d aim to wound probably has no experience with a gun outside of a video game. Shooting from a moving target, at another moving target, from those ranges on the open ocean, and with a downward trajectory like that – it takes a pretty high amount of skill to even hit your target, let alone pick out a specific body part to wound.
what a stupid question! Do you shoot them? Are you kidding me?
why would you let them board? they are trying to do whatever is needed to get what they want aka killing you sooooo ya kill em
Yo, check me out!!! I’m gonna rip the sh*t out of this magazine… BANG!!!!
Just one more reason to be in the mountains, no pirates. Oh and yes fire a warning shot then feed the sharks with the pirate parts.
thats why i left that game 3 years ago son! Shred is better than dead. I’d rather lose my life to the hand of the gods than the hand of another man.
no problem with people shooting to defend themselves and the ship. I first saw this on Reddit and there is a good IMA as well with a deck capt. answering questions on this stuff-http://www.reddit.com/r/tabled/comments/rxnpa/table_iama_deck_officer_on_a_merchant_vessel_that/
My heart would be thumpin, but that’s better than the alternative.
Fish in a barrel man, fish in a dang ol’ barrel
I wouldn’t think twice. These “pirates” would be long gone.
Shoot
Well what are the intentions of the pirates? if they are peace loving occupy ocean street pirates, then no I wouldn’t shoot them. If they are take you hostage and possibly kill you pirates, in that case 2 to the chest one to the head.
i keep checking back to see if someone makes a case for not taking another persons life. just so i can see the firestorm of retaliation against said dumbass.
Don’t shoot it if you’re not going to eat it. Have you any Grey Poupon?
They are just trying to make money to feed their daughters.
It was all a dream, I use to read Word Up magazine…
and Heavy D up in the limousine
Question: would this security crew open fire on the Sea Shepherds? It seems the Shepherds use approximately the same tactics as Somali pirates.
Whales? Humans? Hmmm?
Theft? Murder? Hmmmm?
I didn’t realize there was a gun mount for the gopro…?
