The bEAST coast produces some of the best competitive skiers and riders in the world. We don’t have mountains over 4k feet, and we don’t get 600+ in of snowfall each year. This has no correlation with bad skiing or skiers on the east coast. We’re not spoiled with constant blower pow and sick mountains. Anyone who thinks the east coast doesn’t deserve to be mentioned on un obviously is an ignorant fuck
It is true that shit conditions make better skiers, like the east and the midwest. Although once those kids grow up they move to places like Squaw and ski with the big boys.
I would also like to add that if the East would like to be a part of this, then the East should sack up and bring something to the table. A funny mustache and a par of teles will only get you so far.
i guess it takes one to know one. the east may be a good place to learn to be a good skier. but you have to be pretty retarded to want to stay there once you take your skills elsehwere. How many people move from northeast skiing to the west? Lots. in the other direction? not so much. Soo I used to live in Jackson, WY…best four years of my life, even after college. Then I realized I didn’t want to be a ski bum working seasonal jobs for the rest of my life. It was a really hard decision to leave, but I’m happy with my choice to go back east because I’ve got a career and direction for life goals. Do I miss skiing the Tetons on the reg? Fuck yes. Do I wish I still lived out there? Sometimes, yeah. But I knew I couldn’t get where I am now if I stayed out there, so I make do with what I’ve got and just save my monies for trips to visit out west. Skiing the east is better than not skiing at all.

might not be the dopest skiing, but i spent ten summers raft guiding in maine, its the shit. if you like thousands of acres of forest, bald above tree line summits, and no people!
