weather.com’s 48 hour precipitation forecast for the USA

Clouds are currently ripping thru Squaw Valley propelled by ridge-tops winds that are already gusting to 50 mph.  Our storm cycle is going to happen.  It’s coming in 3 waves and we’ve got our fingers crossed for snow levels to stay in the 6,000 to 6,500 foot range.  This could be the blessing we’ve been waiting for.

FIRST STORM WAVE:

“By Friday morning we are looking for around 2-4 inches at lake level with possible mix with rain, 3-6 inches above 6500 ft., 6-9 above 7000 ft., and 9-12 along the crest.” – TahoeWeatherDiscussion.org

Precipitation forecast for USA. look at the Cali/Oregonia coast border...15+ qpf...damn.

SECOND STORM WAVE:

“A bigger storm moves in on Friday lasting into Saturday with lots of subtropical moisture. ”

“Assuming those snow levels and splitting taking the precip average we could pick up 1-2 feet above 7000 ft. with 2-3 feet along the crest by Saturday night.  That brings the storm totals to 18-30 inches above 7000 ft. through Saturday night and 30-48 inches along the crest.” -  TahoeWeatherDiscussion.org

THIRD STORM WAVE:

“Sunday we have another big storm that is colder with snow levels down to lake level.  This storm looks like it could bring 1-2 feet to all elevations and another 2-3 feet up along the crest.”TahoeWeatherDiscussion.org

TOTAL STORM WAVE ACCUMULATION:

“Looking at Saturday morning and beyond for lake level it looks like there could be 18 inches up to 3 feet.  Above 7000 ft. we could see 7 day totals of 3-5 feet, and up along the crest we could see 4-7 feet.” - TahoeWeatherDiscussion.org

Noaa.gov isn’t giving very firm totals, yet.  But, they will soon and we’ll pass ‘em along:

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

A STRONG PACIFIC JET STREAM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING IN SEVERAL MORE
MOIST STORMS TO THE REGION. SIGNIFICANT PRECIPITATION IN THE FORM
OF RAIN AND SNOW IS LIKELY ACROSS EASTERN CALIFORNIA AND
NORTHWESTERN NEVADA THROUGH THIS WEEKEND...ALTHOUGH HOW MUCH WILL
FALL IS STILL UNCERTAIN. SNOW LEVELS MAY RISE ABOVE 8000 FEET
THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY BEFORE FALLING OVER THE WEEKEND.

Still looks like the stars are out 2″-4″ by Friday morning? I would prefer no postings on unoffical until snow actually falls. Anyone else down for that? Would at least bring quality levels back up to even
