Crazy Mike Wilson wingsuit racing VIDEO…

July 5th, 2012 by

Wilson has been out traveling the world looking for the next biggest, most fun and crazy stunt the past few weeks. This was shot in Hawaii with some local photographers/videographers and included a Red Epic camera. The stunt was done for a commercial for Intel.

Getting ready to get rad

Originally the event was supposed to be a race down a mountainside with huge gates set along the mountain for some close proximity flying. Unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate and it was way too windy to complete safely. The end result is still entertaining and a sign of big things to come here in the near future from Mike.

Some pretty sick cameras in there.

Squaw Valley’s Mt. Curletti Glacier Defies Climate Warming Trends: Behold The Blackened Behemoth!!!

July 7th, 2011 by

Edit by, Conor Toumarkine

Curletti, a magnificent walrus of a mountain, is raised in the Far East Parking lot every ski season as snow plowed from the lot is piled high to make way for the sprawl of cars that pack the valley floor on powder days.  By midsummer this man-made megalith begins collapsing under its own weight like a giant pruning star, becoming denser and denser until its own gravity seemingly draws in all of the lost and discarded artifacts of the previous winter.

Mt. Curletti, Squaw Valley, CA

Encased in a nearly impenetrable crust of beer cans, broken sunglasses, chapstick cartridges, ski gloves, and grit: Behold The Blackened Behemoth!

Interview conducted by Jamie Schectman and originally posted to the MRA Blog - The Official on Unofficial

Unofficial Networks is killing it. First with Unofficial Squaw, and now with other ski resorts around the US, these guys are saying it how it is.

MRA had the pleasure of chatting with co-founder, Tim Konrad, and got to find out what it’s like being the skier’s information source, if it’s really as fun as it looks behind the Unofficial Networks curtain, and whether or not we are going to be getting more GNAR excitement…

SkiDUCK – Skiing and Snowboarding for Kids

March 6th, 2011 by

SkiDUCK is one of the coolest things going on at Squaw Valley these days. The program, which is run by unpaid volunteers, works with resorts and youth groups to get kids from all over Northern California and Nevada out skiing. Some of the kids are local Tahoe residents from towns like Kings Beach. But despite their  close proximity to the mountains they have never had a chance to go skiing. Other SkiDuck kids are from places like Stockton and Oakland having never seen snow before. Squaw Valley provides enormous help to the program by  providing SkiDuck with over 400 lift tickets, rentals and lessons for the kids. Thats right, 400 lift tickets for kids to go skiing for FREE! Way to go Squaw.

To get involved, donate money or much need gear head over to:
