Skiers send it in the pipe. Double 1260′s and back to back 10′s.  Justin Dorey takes the win with a double 12 first hit, to flat 3, switch double 10 (yep in the pipe WTF) to right 9. Holy S*, what a way to end the 2011 TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival. As they say “Party in April, Sleep in May!”

Sun + Warm temperatures – Clothes = A FUNNY SLUSH CUP

Whistler Blackcomb was a perfect place on Saturday. The last weekend of the 2011 TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival brought sun, fun and a large crowd to the Glacier Creek Lodge! The Palm Bay Slush Cup needs no introduction so watch and laugh as people eat S#!T into the icy waters.

On Friday Qualifiers for the WSI Superpipe went down followed by a concert by Broken Social Scene. The TELUS Festival has taken over our bodies and the office of Unofficial Whistler smells like ski socks and booze. Stay tuned as we continue to finish edits from the 2011 TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival.

Voleruz released their winning submission for the 2011 Intersection competition. This video won the “good looking group of men” from Voleruz $15,000. ALSO! Voleruz gets GNAR points from Unofficial Networks because of their BN in this video! A great video with classic Voleruz editing style some banger skiing and snowboarding and a cat on skis, watch, laugh and enjoy right meow.

On Monday April 18th the Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival continued with Monster Energy’s “The Show” And the Boarderstyle Time Trial.  Going down in the Blackcomb boarder cross course, riders tied up their tightest boots and waxed their stiffest board and hit the track.  The race part of the event was basically like a normal boardercross the only difference was at then end of the track there was a jump and the Oakley box where the “racers” could throw down.  Stay Tuned to Unofficial as Telus really gets going!  More Parties, More Events, More Awesomeness!

This video reminds me of backcountry skiing…. But how you ask? it’s in a desert and they’re biking….YEP. Watch as Darren Berrecloth hikes 2000 vertical feet with his DH bike on his back, then shreds a sick line. A line so sick it would probably make Unofficial Networks if there was snow on the ground and we were skiing. This vieso is F*cking Pimp!

Day one, two and three of the 2011 Telus World Ski and Snowbaord Festival went off with a bang. The first weekend provided good skiing, epic concerts (Fort Knox Five, Swollen Members, and Spirit of the West) and some progressive snowboard events, Monster Energy’s THE SHOW.
