Classic Clip: INSANE Snowmobile Underflip 180

April 14th, 2014 by

Ever taken huge air on your sled? Ever done a backflip on your sled? Ever done a 180 on your sled? Okay, now take all of these, put ‘em together and stomp it out with style… INSANE! The thought of executing any one of these feats alone sends shivers down my spine.

Apparently Jerry Fredriksson is “one” with his snowmachine because he can now claim such a trick with authority. How would this trick even be classified? Uphill underflip 180? Mindblowing works too.

Double backflips, front flips, underflips… What’s next? Hard to say but I’m pretty sure that a crazy Swede will be the one to show us.

How To: Poach a Hot Tub in a Ski Town

November 18th, 2013 by

Peep this video from the 72hr Filmmaker Showdown that took place during the World Ski & Snowboard Festival back in April. Film crews had 72 hours to shoot, edit and produce a three to five minute short film within a 100km radius of Whistler. Three rotations of the Earth on it’s axis makes for a mass creative frenzy  etc. etc… Check out Poached Earth (above) Winner of BEST IN SHOW. Enjoy.

Back Flip to Front Flip on the Same Jump | Ok It’s a Crash

November 8th, 2013 by

35 thousand views in eight days, sign me up to crash… Check out our Joey (not a baby kangaroo, a Breckenridge  Joey)  try a back flip. I’m guessing it’s not his first time back flipping because Joey doesn’t huck. Honestly I think he would’ve stomped if he had more speed. BUT instead Joey cases the jump and goes ass over tea kettle straight into a fully extended front flip.

IFSA Video: Erik Hilb killing it

September 16th, 2013 by

The past several years we have traveled across the continent to some of the biggest junior freeride competitions. Both the IFSA and JFT provide the opportunity for young and upcoming skiers in the US and Canada to showcase their talent.

The talent at the junior IFSA events and JFT events rivals the talent of the FWT 4 star events. Over the next several days we will include some season edits from some of these talented athletes and it’s the summer, so enjoy the skiing!

Erik Hilb is a talented 17 YO skier from Vail, CO. He is comfortable in the park, on big mountain terrain, and turns his skis as well as anyone. Check out some of the technicality of some of the lines in this video. He had a great year and we look forward to watching Erik continue to progress.

Erik had this to say about his season:

“I broke my arm early on in the season but I was back skiing by January and was able to secure a few National podiums and on several occasions I was holding the highest individual score of the competition. Had a great time shredding with all the guys on the tour this year and am way stoked to ride with all of them again this season! Big ups to Oakley, Pret Helmets, Full Tilt Boots, and Soul Poles for the support, and of course thanks to my parents and coaches!”

Martin is one of the top 15-18 year old competitors and still has another year to compete as a junior. Look for him on a FWT tour podium in the next few years.

Martin had this to say about his season:

This past season was my best I’ve had yet. I was fortunate enough to travel to some really cool places and ski some wild terrain. Not only did I have a breakthrough in my results and skiing, but I also had an incredibly fun time. I cannot thank my parents, coaches and sponsors enough for giving me this wonderful opportunity. I am so excited for next season and the good times that will come with it. Cheers!

Taylor had this to say about his season.

“This year was one of the best I’ve ever had, from qualifying 2nd in 2 comps back to back to getting to travel to Revelstoke, BC and all around the west to shred some of the sickest resorts in the world with some of the best skiers in North America.  It was a breakthrough year for me, thanks to all the the support and stoke from all my Alta/Bird coaches and closest homies, this year was definitely a year full of memories I’ll never forget!”
