Well, that’s that, the ski season is over.  It’s time to put your fart bags away and start to bike and climb and enjoy the warm weather.  Maybe even get some sun on your cheeks… (32 seconds)  Hopefully everyone made it up to Snowbird at some point over the weekend.  The atmosphere was filled with good vibes and  the excitement flowed all around.  All weekend long Leroy’s Lip, a.k.a The Wave, was going off with everything from huge straight airs to corked spins and painful crashes!  In addition to The Wave, the pond skim at the bottom of Anderson’s Hill provided much excitement and for some a cool off from the sun.

Brad Deitch sent in his season edit yesterday and with the season coming quickly to an end I guess it is fitting to watch some highlights. Most of Brad’s footage is from the Snowbasin, but there is some Snowbird throw in for good measure.  I gotta say that my favorite part is the music. Definitely my Phavorite Phish song!

We all remember Vanessa Aadland skiing Mt. Superior Naked last June 1st. It looks like Superior will be completely melted out well before then this season. In honor of Mr. Shane McConkey and of Vanessa’s moves last year Ben White and his buddies skied Pipeline BN at Snowbird recently. The video is kinda long and does not show as much skin as all you pervs would want to see, but here it is to prove that the deed was done. The music is kinda rough too….

We checked the report on the Snowbird website seeing if Pipeline would be open. It was, so we packed our bags and the requisite stuff. Rolled into patrol at the top, checked in, then headed on our way. Some dude with a kickass moustache named Jeremy asked to join us because his partner bailed on him. So we made a new friend. We hiked up, took some pictures, got on top, did the sketchy rock/ snow down climb into the top of the chute, then waved Jeremy goodbye. That’s when we decided to get naked. It was pretty much a group consensus, with one of us saying “It’s a nice day, let’s get naked” and the rest of us saying “sounds good.” Our skiing party had three nude dudes and a topless girl. The girl did not want to take her boots off to get fully naked because it was pretty sketchy standing up there. That’s totally fine, because most people don’t go skiing shirtless regardless of the terrain. When we got to the bottom, Jeremy was there kind of hanging out. We surprised him, but fortunately he got our exit on film. We got clothed again at the bottom of the chute, then skied the rest of the morning and then headed to class.

Today’s condition was a couple of inch fresh snow and wind snow. Many place covered snow like a untrack.

Tram was crowded very much in 10-a.m. because they doesn’t run Peruvian lift.

You should go Gadzoom and Little cloud lift to get almost top of bird.

Little Cottonwood Canyon has been going off the last 2 days!  The atmosphere is always rich with excitement and powder fever when the weatherman is wrong in a good way.  Skiers and boarders alike woke up to 13 inches of fresh instead of the 2-4 they were expecting Thursday morning.  That day I skied with the one and only Kenjiro Matsuo and Altabird’s Matthew Wolfe.  It continued to snow all day and by closing we had picked up about 5 more inches.  Friday took me to Alta with an unexpected several more inches.  The lift lines were non existent and I spent the day skiing with Panda Poles own TanSnowMan and Andrew B.

Conditions tomorrow should be excellent with another few inches on the way.  With 23 inches so far with this storm, we are no longer eligible for the “Worst Winter on Record” award.

Some guy said,

“powder day today, no friends, just ski powder”

unnn  yeah, right. I want to ski powder, I don’t wanna wait for any friends too.

And this season has less storm than normal at Snowbird. So we has a few chance ski with powder.
