Here is some fun footage from a couple Alta athletes Kyler Cooley and Dylan Natale. It looks like we go snow just in time. These guys were practicing up in the desert to go postal with some heavy weapons.

Blake Jorgenson – Early Season at Whistler Blackcomb

Blake Jorgenson shows us what Early Season is all about at Whistler Blackcomb. This video is really well done because it includes a mixture of photos, interviews, and GoPro video footage. I completely agree with Rory’s statement regarding “everyone and the early season stoke,” and I think this early season excitement can not be portrayed anywhere better than at UBC. The nubes on campus spread the buzz about “whistler weekends.” Girls and girlfriends can be heard discussing where on the mountain they are going to eat (not ski), and there is talk of winter everywhere on campus. But to the nubes when March arrives this buzz will be transfered to summer excitement and the “Whistler weekends” will be a thing of the past…. And as for us, well we ski.  No matter what, where, and when, we always keep the stoke.

I can’t wait to see Blake’s slideshow for the Deep Winter Photo Competition, and I must say I am somewhat nervous because I will be competing against him on photographer Andrew Strain’s team.

Chasing friends and waiting for the Storm

December 28th, 2010 by

It was a less than stellar day on the hill today at Snowbird. Don’t get me wrong it was still fun, but we could use a little snow to freshen things up a bit. The tourist season has scrapped off much of the soft product and left us with some pretty big bumps out there. I spent the afternoon chasing around local shred Jack Pilot.

If you ski on the East Coast or anywhere that gets wicked cold, the Balaclava is something that you need to have.  On those cold, blustery days when any exposed … Read More

Awesome POV of first tracks off the top of Palmyra.

December 28th, 2010 by

This is a sweet video of Telluride local Casey Riva getting first tracks off the top of Palmyra last season.  The snow looked awesome on this day and this is a great line. He definitely rips it. It sure is nice being in the right place at the right time, great job man! Can’t wait to get up there this season!

Stowe – Terrain Report: 12/27/10

December 27th, 2010 by

As most of the East Coast got pounded with over a foot of snow, Northern Vermont only got 3 – 5 inches.  With the snow came the wind, which was … Read More

Day after Xmas shredding at Snowbird

December 26th, 2010 by

Sometimes you get surprised two days in a row. Although there were loads of cars parked on the bypass this afternoon the trams were rolling up the hill less than full. Who doesn’t love that? There was some light snow falling all afternoon which caused some carnage for some drivers on the way home today. The rumor is that six cars slid off the road and a few others smashed into each other. Ah, the holiday drivers are here for the week. Watch out!

Merry Christmas from Snowbird

December 25th, 2010 by

The idea was to go get a couple mellow turns for the Christmas holiday, but it ended up being a pretty ripping day out there. With the inversion setting up in the valley we knew it would be a warm sunny one. What we didn’t expect was great snow. We were way off.
