Another Snowbird Storm Day

December 22nd, 2010 by

So you know how I have been talking trash about how you need to get to get off your ass and get to the gym? Well…I need to take my own advice. I got my ass kicked by the hill today. After a couple hard days of riding I had nothing on the nice new west coast cream we had on hand today.

So you think you are too old to huck. No, you are just too lame, or out of shape to huck. Check out Sage and Seth killing in this clip and remember that they are in their early and late 30′s respectively. So put down the pipe, get off the couch and shake off all those lame excuses. It is time to hit the gym! The season is upon us and you only have a few months left until all you can do is ride bikes and climb rocks to keep yourself sane.

Video of Telluride Local Pro – Jake Cohn

December 22nd, 2010 by

SICK video of Telluride local Jake Cohn skiing in Whistler,  Argentina, and Telluride. Jake grew up in Telluride and moved to BC to go to college. He now rides at Whistler/Blackcomb, where he helps run UnofficialWhistler.com. Jake is an all around bad-ass on the mountain, and can really take his

Salomon Freeski TV: Japan

December 21st, 2010 by

Here is a look at Salomon Freeski TV’s latest video. This video edit is of some outrageous powder skiing and pillow lines from Japan. Oh Man, how could you not want to go to Japan and ski pow like this. BUT come on guys the old “Lets look at the funny things they sell at 7/11 in Japan” Again!?  You fly half way around the world to the land of the rising sun, home of the Samurai and Seppuku and your entire cultural bit is walking thru and 7/11 poking fun at small Red Bulls. That being said, cool edit. Nice work

Squaw Valley – Dec. 21, 2010 Snow Report

December 21st, 2010 by

Daily Edit by 19 year old local Eric Bryant. What do you guys think, should we make this guy a blaster?

Squaw gave us Granite this morning straight off the bat.  It was deep and bottomless up there.  Some humans including mike wilson even thought it deep enough to hurl themselves off enormous cliffs while getting inverted with enough time to think what laundry detergent they used to wash their underwear.  Which may or may not have been subsequently soiled.

A taste of Carston Oliver

December 20th, 2010 by

Here is some cool footage from Carston’s trip to Argentina last summer. The first cliff drop is huge and he stomps it. I have knee envy.  You should definitely say hi to this quiet young multi sport ripper when you see him at the Bird. He is really damn fun to ski with and will even wait for your slow ass sometimes.

Skiing and Snowboarding on Blackcomb December 18, 2010

December 19th, 2010 by

Today was Grey out, but visibility wasn’t too bad up there. Good day to stay in the trees. We found the snow had a crust layer down low, but some of the windloaded areas were amazing. The mountain seemed pretty empty for a Saturday before Christmas. Glacier chair had no line ups at all wich was great to do some quick laps. We found that the snow down low had this really crappy ice layer, so it was better to cut on to the runs before you got too low. Check out the video these random guys sent us. They were riding some sketchy spots that are permanently closed, So don’t go there. And Unofficial does not condone this type of activity either.

Telluride: Chair 9 Pow Day – Dec. 18, 2010

December 19th, 2010 by

Well, winter has come to the San Juans and it is here to stay. Today simply went off with Chair 9′s opening! While the resort reported 2″, there was close to a foot in town when I walked the mutt this morning. When I arrived up top, there was easily two feet in the trees!
