And that’s a wrap for June Mountain for 2012… Really?! It’s that time of year already? Yes, Sunday, April 15 was closing day for June.

The not-so-good news: June Mountain’s season has come to an end. The upside: June didn’t have to close – coverage was all-around “solid.” Granted downloading J1 was definitely recommended (coverage on the face was muy thin) and June cannot claim world’s best halfpipe (they never actually had one for 2011/2012) yet June still managed to rally its way through one of the toughest snow seasons on record.

What better way to shut-er-down than to lap Sunshine Park off of J7? Matt Guntert and Vinny Pettengill did just that, bagging more tricks in just a couple hours than most could muster in a lifetime. Hey, if you’re going to close up shop, you may as well do it in style.

Video versions of this site have been up on our site before.  Each one progressively more polished.  Wether you like to watch park skiing or not, this video is very entertaining.  I suppose anything Red Bull sponsored is gonna be entertaining.

While most of us have been trying to salvage some last turns in the slush and sunshine, the pros in Sweden have been getting it done. Each year the Jon Olsson Invitational (JOI) provides us with a measuring stick for the season to come- in the park world at least. This years JOI was no exception. A handful of new tricks were stomped, including a double cork seven, a trick that’s feasibility has long been debated. This video is truly amazing, and requires a couple views just to figure out what the hell some of the tricks were. In the end, Gus Kenworthy took the top spot on the podium, followed by Vincent Gagnier and Aleksander Aurdal.
