Mountain Biking

Solid Mountain Bike Edit from the Jordanelle Burn in Utah

The skiing so far in Utah this Winter has been pretty much meh….We are all out there trying to make it happen out there and trying to keep a good attitude, but the the best way to describe the skiing in Utah so far is to say “that the mountain biking is still really good right now.”  This is a unique and well edited clip from some PC downhillers that made the most of a burned out hill near the Jordanelle Reservoir.  Nice work!

From my little homie Elliot Davis:

As you may have heard of, there was a mini wildfire at the Jordanelle lake, My friend and filmmaker Daniel Riley shot some sweet freeride video of the burn area, starring Jaren Lockwood and Chad Wallin.

Andrew Whiteford, the King of POV At It Again | GoPro Hero 3 Test

October 29th, 2012 by

GoPro just launched their all new GoPro Hero 3, and the man, myth and legend of POV got a chance to try it out.  Check out Andrew Whiteford as he slays some brown (and some white!) pow on his bike, as Fall begins to slip away and we head closer to that wonderful time of winter.

If you don’t know who Andrew Whiteford is, you might want to check out his viral POV from last year, and enjoy having creamy pow shots and Black and Yellow stuck in your head for the duration of the work week:

The trailer for Where The Trail Ends is more or less unbelievable.  Watch the world’s best mountain bike riders in some of the world’s most remote locations riding terrain that is simply mind boggling.  These guys dip pow turns on their DH bikes like we slash pow turns on skis!!

Andreu Lacondeguy Training in Spain

Andreu Lacondeguy, one of the world’s most talented freestyle mountain bikers, has always been known to go big. This video is no exception.  Known for his style of doing crazy tricks on the biggest jumps around, Andreu’s video appearances never disappoint. Watch this epic video of some of the biggest, baddest dirt jumping and moto riding and you will understand why Andreu is one of the best.

Some time has passed since Antimedia pointed our lenses towards the world of mountainbiking, and we figured it was time to go back to our roots and make a new MTB edit. For us the best place to do this is Andreu’s new training compound in Llinars del Valles outside of Barcelona. In 2011 Andreu bought Edgar Torronteras’ FMX compound, built a 13 meter tall run-in to compensate for his lack of horsepowers, and brought his a-game to his everyday life. As usual Andreus riding didn´t dissapoint, and we had a blast with a week of dirt, cameras, drones, motocross and mountainbikes.

Jackson Hole Bike Park Opens Saturday! Saturday! Saturday!

Yup, it’s that time of year again. Okay, it has been that time of year again for a while in Jackson now. To add to the variety of trails available to mountain bikers, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is opening their bike park this weekend. The six trails- from beginner to expert- offer a nice variety for those out in the village. Lift service, which takes all of about a minute, will guarantee riders can shred brown pow until their forearms seize up. Then, just like in winter, you can aprés at the V.C. and spray about how rad you just got. Good times!

Bike Season Moving Into Full Swing | Whistler Mountain Bike Park Spring Edit

June 5th, 2012 by

The time of year is upon us, that time when things shift away from skiing…opening a great void in our lives.  What are we to do without our beloved snow capped mountains?  If you feel at a loss with what to do next, check out the above video then go buy a downhill mountain bike.  Whistler Bike Park opened just a couple weeks ago, and judging by the moist, intense, and beautifully slowed down video from early spring, things are teeing off.

Northstar Bike Park opening date:  June 15th

In my opinion, not much can compare to skiing.  But mountain biking certainly comes close to feeding that desire for heart thumping, high speed enjoyment in the mountains.  So what’s your story?  Have you dusted off the bike yet?  Or do you indulge in some other form of summertime fun…maybe climbing, backpacking, kayaking…the summer time options are endless!  You know what they say, you come to the mountains for the winter, but you stay for the summer.

Mountain Climbing & Riding a Bike Down? | Consequences = High

June 1st, 2012 by

Skip to 2:52 to get to the riding downhill.

Looks like you can bring your bike anywhere you want these days.  Even up on the via ferrata in Italia’s Dolomites.

Climbing up with bikes looks kinda sketchy.  Riding them down looks even sketchier.

The riding isn’t that exciting to watch.  But you can tell that if these guys fall, it’s pretty much all over…

There actually is a via ferrata in Telluride, CO.

Mountain Biking the via ferrata.  Cool.
