Chuck Patterson made such a huge explosion on this landing that I couldn’t see the rock he’s jumping off for a sec. Squaw was absolutely incredible last week.  Bottomless pow, … Read More

First Chimney Session of 2011 – Feb 22

February 22nd, 2011 by

Today the chimney opened for the first time this season.  The conditions weren’t great.  The landings and the chimney itself were hard and were giving some people the buck and plenty of knee pain.  I skied the Sweep and not a flake of snow gave way.

What went down?  The Sweep, Center Line, The Loft, a Center Line/Loft variation by Jacob, and the Dan Scarcia line.

Silverado Feb 21, 2011

February 21st, 2011 by

Silverado was pretty amazing today.  I always forget how much I love that zone.  I wish we could get in there more often.

Here is a quick edit from today, it ain’t nuttin’ special but it’s better than a sharp stick in the eye.  Hell, it’s even better than a dull one in the eye.  So was the skiing.

Silverado was deep and untouched.  There wasn’t too many people here today and everyone who was had a big smile.  Including Chuck Patterson in this video

Hey, other ski resorts, I can’t believe you’re pro…Squaw is SO much better than you!

Seriously guys, can you even contemplate in your low-snowfall-thinking brains our 97 inches of 5% blower in 4 days.  No. No you can’t.  That’s because you’re not Squaw and you don’t know what it’s like to get snow like this.

Greg Lindsey Feb. 17th Edit – Yeah, when it was crazy deep

February 18th, 2011 by

Edit and Words by Greg Lindsey

Just a couple days ago I felt like I was stuck in groundhogs day, skiing the same groomers over and over, and ending it with a  chamy beer at the exact same time everyday. Now you can get out there and basically chuck yourself off anything you feel like, grab an untouched facial whenever you feel like it and ski pow from bell to bell, and boy is it a really good feeling to do just that. This is what I live for!!

Enjoy the skiing of Miles (broken face) Clark, George Hjelte, and Greg Lindsey

Stay tuned for the Unofficial Daily from today February 18th!  It was DEEEP.  too deep really

Squaw was STUPID DEEP Today – 40 inches of Snow

February 17th, 2011 by

Remember how in November we went from dirt to hucking into bottomless powder in 2 days.  Well, the exact same thing happened in February.  3 days ago we were skiing rock hard, 6 week old snow that was just itching to break your face.  Today, it was 3 foot deep, 5%, bottomless powder, and you could do anything you wanted.  I felt like superman today.
