April is officially powder month. I have been saying all year that we ski in December, January and February so that we are in shape for when the real season arrives in March and April. This April is not disappointing us in any way whatsoever. It seems like we have had six or seven storm days with a couple bluebird pow days in between. The sun has not even been doing a number on the snow yet. That could all change soon if the storms stop rolling in. As most ski resorts are getting ready to close or have already closed the resorts in LCC are still building base.

It was deep today at Snowbird. Crazy Deep! Deep enough that it would have been worth quitting your job to be there this morning. The Junior Freeskiing Tour is in town and the young fellas and fella-ettes were shredding on Silver Fox today for the qualifier. I was planning to watch a bunch, but got caught up skiing all that pow.

Kenjiro made it out of a shaken up Japan just in time to shred some sick Utah pow. Unfortunately he busted himself up on like his sixth day here by going 40 feet to rocks in the Forbidden zone. (See video at 0:55) His ankle injury has not slowed him down too much, because he is way tougher than you will ever dream of being. Check out the edit he put together in just 10 short days in Utah. So lets see, Kenjiro just survived a deadly earthquake, flew to the US, got hurt and has been here only 10 days total and he already made a quality edit. What is your excuse for not having one yet? Today was my birthday and a real ripper of a day at Snowbird. You had to choose your battles and figure out where the snow was, and where the gnarly frozen roller balls were underneath. North Baldy was not that great, West Baldy was awesome. The Bookends were sick Wilbur Bowl was awful. (See crash in video) Silverfox was killing it as always. We rolled hard all day with a great crew. Thanks to all my friends for all the love and for skiing with me. Also, thanks to the big guy for giving me a bluebird pow day with walk on trams all day long for my big day! Storms are heading our way too. Sick!

Sam Cohen has just put out a mid season edit that is pretty sweet. Check it out and remember that this fella is just 18 years young. What were you doing at 18? Selling weed behind 7-11? Playing video games with your pimple faced friends? This is what the future looks like and I dig it!

There was another 10 or so inches of fresh at the Snowbird this morning on top of the leftovers from yesterday. Superior got skied by about 4,000 people today. I heard from Deane Southworth that is was wicked good. The resort also was wicked good today. Walk on trams made the day feel long, and the sun made landing cliffs easier than yesterday. People were going off everywhere. I caught a quick glimpse of Oakley White-Allan and Tanner Rosenthal skiing North Chute switch from the tram. Bravo guys!!!

This sweet little number is of Panda Poles front man Tanner Rosenthal getting after in on a powder day last week with the Panda Cam. Be patient with this one it gets pretty damn cool a little ways in when Tanner starts charging the deep and the dubstep starts hitting harder.
