Dave has been good enough to send us several videos over the last couple months. I believe he is a member of the elusive Alta Snowboard Team headed by one Mr. Mica Bownlie. This video was all shot on the first on the 1st of May. That is right kids May 1st! While all the other resorts are getting ready for mountain bike season and all the transient resort workers are trying to figure out what they are going to do for the summer….again, Snowbird is still straight crushing it! I have been asking people to send in their coolest edits al season and I have recently gotten a flood of them. I think it is so rad that we can all share our experiences from the winter with each other. Unofficial has been a great way for me to keep up on what everyone is getting into this winter and I hope it has been doing the same for you also. Luke Hinz is a guy who is not afraid of a little adventure. He is also pretty damn tough. After an early season encounter with a large tree left him with a broken arm and a blown knee Luke did what any true skiing addict would do….he kept skiing. It really didn’t slow him down very much at all. Proving once again it is all about mind over matter: If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. In this edit Luke splices some solid skiing with some wild canyoneering in Zion National Park. I have done a little canyoneering down that way at it is very high on the coolest things I have ever done list. If you have not done any canyoning I strongly recommend it.

Spring was in the air today and it was time to go get some corn. The plan was to meet Annie and Crazy Ray at Alta early and get moving, but a random road closure held us up a bit. It all worked out for the best as we added three more people to our crew during the leisurely hike up. It was super warm and sunny and we were hoping to get to the peak from the corn got too sloppy.

This video was sent in by a guy who goes simply by “Heff”. It is tough to pull off the one name thing, but I think that Heff can hang since he skis so well. It seems that we share tastes in lines, because some of my favorites are in this edit. Congrats on being famous on the Internet Heff. Say hi to the girls for me eh?

Anyone who has not been living under a rock knows that this has been the best April of skiing ever in the history of the world. That was made official when Snowbird announced that it has received more snow this year than in any other in its 40 year history.  This is Gavin Smith’s first season in LCC. What a lucky guy! Not only did he get to ski at the best resort on the planet during his freshman year in college he got it on the best year the resort has ever had. Logic tells us that the best resort having its best year is impossible to beat. You just can’t argue with logic…that would be stupid.
