Opening Day @ Mammoth Mountain | Backflips, Frontflips, 540ºs, 360ºs, 180ºs, Screamin’ Semen, Spread Eagles, Rails, Boxes, & WORM-ROLLS

November 12th, 2011 by

Words and video by Colin Farrell:

There’s just something about being back on the hill and there’s something about Opening Day, no matter the conditions.

Jimmy Greenleaf kicks off the season opener with style… Watch as Jimmy and friends Jesse Lydestrom, Mikey, and Marcos return to one of their favorite places – the Mountain. Good weather, good snow, great vibes, great friends… yes, this is the life.

BTW, all this was shot with the GoPro HD Hero – can’t control most of your settings (i.e. exposure, WB, focus, etc.) but the GoPro’s simplicity of use, durability, resolution and adaptability are hard to beat.

We really should do an UnofficialMammoth

McConkey-Style Rocksliding in Argentina | Bringing Squaw to the Southland | Bariloche

August 14th, 2011 by

Big Backflips, huge 360′s, small backflips, backflips to the head… Getting a break from 7 days of rain and snow in the upper elevations meant one thing: it’s time to go skiing. The pow in Laguna was a bit on the wind pressed side as always and the light was less than ideal, but that certainly did not prevent from leaving the ground.  And with Del Bosque remaining closed for the first half of the day, our only competition for Laguna laps was…no one.

Summer Camp at Boreal: Kids Throw Down!

June 23rd, 2011 by

There is still a ton of snow at Boreal and they recently opened for a new summer ski and snowboard freestyle camp. I had the pleasure of hanging out with some of the campers and damn, they threw down. Thanks to a big winter, skiers and riders get to enjoy the quality features, which would otherwise be dirt by this time of year. It was a beautiful day.

June 6th, 2011 by

The snow isn’t even weird to us anymore. It’s normal. It’s June, no resorts are open in Tahoe, & there’s over a foot of snow just laying around with nothing to do at Alpine Meadows right now.  Eric Bryant was good enough to go out and entertain the snow for an hour or so, but he’s gone now doing Calculus homework.  So, what does the snow do now!?

February 22nd, 2011 by

Josh Anderson ripping the hell out of Squaw Valley during the amazing Februray 2011 storm cycle.  Backflip off High Camp, The Drifter, Whitewater, Frogs & Toads, 360 of the cat track, and more.

This kinda footage is going to just keep floating in.  It was unreal and the footage proves it.
