Thanks to Antti Ruohonen, Molski Pictures and All I Can’t Productions for putting together this video from the second half of January in Hakuba, Japan.  This edit features awesome ski movie parodies, copious amounts of slow mo action, car chases, and deep powder skiing. At 12 minutes, it is a long one, but worth watching through for the hilarious spoofs and endless POV shots. Enjoy.

Sugar Bowl Was GOOD This Morning | November Pow Skiing In Tahoe, More Snow to Come Next Week!!!

November 9th, 2012 by

Skiing is back in Tahoe, and it is good!  With a rather cold storm for this time of year, the skiing high up was top notch, while the skiing down below was full blown combat skiing (the sun is still strong, and most non-north facing aspects have burnt out since the last storm).   The top of Sugar Bowl received easily 10-14″ depending on  what aspect you were skiing.  I found North-North East to hold the best snow.  It looks like the snow should continue into the weekend, and another cycle for the middle of next week.

Ladies and gentleman, the storm door has swung open!

Pacific NW Webisodes – “Our Backyard” Teaser

November 9th, 2012 by

This is a teaser for the latest and greatest from K2 Snowboarding, a webisode series titled “Our Backyard”. This series shows the K2 team riders living the Mt. Baker dream.  Word on the street is there will be new clips every other tuesday until the first week of January.  From the look of it, it features some Mt. Baker shenanigans, as well as the fabled Mt. Baker road gap at (1:05).

From K2 Snowboarding:

“Snowboarding is passion, snowboarding is inspiring and creative; it’s high fives and powder mustaches. Many of the best days to be had are in white out conditions, in the heart of the storm, yet fully comforted by the solitude of the trees. This is snowboarding in the Pacific Northwest, in our own backyard.

The true beauty of snowboarding, though, is that every person has they’re unique outlook and whether your backyard is Mt. Baker or a golf course in West Virginia we encourage you to explore that territory and reacquaint yourself with the comfort that snowboarding brings. The friendships that it strengthens and the excitement it instills.

Follow along as we portray our season every other Tuesday from now until the start of January. This is “Our Backyard,” where’s yours?”
