CA spring skiing. photo: squaw valley usa

Squaw Valley has switched to springtime operations this week.  They’ve elected to keep KT and the Funitel open, which is huge.

Definitely a bummer that Squaw is closing this week, but it’s very cool that they are keeping KT and the Funi open until closing day.

Siberia is open today, but we’ve heard that some days they’ll switch Siberia out for Granite Chief, depending on conditions.

LIFTS OPEN @ SQUAW:

- KT-22

- Funitel

- Tram

- Siberia

- Shirley Lake

- Gold Coast

- High Camp

- Baileys Beach

You guys thinking about coming up closing weekend?  Should be a fun one.

Its funny how everyone acts like last weekend was not that great. I found some really good spots that stayed good all day. And, Im pretty sure we DID get a freeze Sat night. Im thinking that this weekend will be pretty great. On the other hand, I suspect that being a boarder, I have it a little better than skiiers in warmer snow

If Squaw opens mainline after tws leaves they’ll need to run sibo for access, guess we’ll see….

Thank god they decided to run the funi too. The whole process of getting up the mountain on the cattle car just sucks….

Hey UN, as of Tues, looks like no more Siberia or Granite Chief. And no plans to run either one this Sat. or Sun. Squaw is NOT “North America’s Spring Skiing Captial” – http://www.squaw.com/media/americas-spring-skiing-capital. For the real deal see “Mammoth”. Keep Squaw Lame.

Per Pffft above, if mainline park does open to public, my guess is we’ll be walking from the top of Gold Coast chair to access it.

There seems to be a Squaw law that only 5 chairs max can run in the spring. Suppose it’s the law of money.
