Snowing today at Woodward Tahoe on Donner Summit, CA

Tahoe has already gotten a few new inches of snow since yesterday.  The weather up here is pretty nasty right now with rain low and snow up high.  Snow levels are going to drop to below 5,000 feet tonight.  There are already a coupla inches of new snow up high in Tahoe right now.

Rain & snow is going to last in Tahoe through Tomorrow evening.  A low of 27F tonight.

AN UNSEASONABLY COLD WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA THROUGH TUESDAY BRINGING SHOWERS AND MUCH COOLER CONDITIONS. TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO FALL BELOW FREEZING ACROSS THE SIERRA AND MUCH OF NORTHEAST CALIFORNIA AND AND IN THE COLDEST VALLEYS OF WESTERN NEVADA. SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE ABOVE 5000 FEET IN THE SIERRA.

This Afternoon: Rain. Steady temperature around 48. Windy, with a southwest wind around 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Tonight: Rain likely before 11pm, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. Breezy, with a west wind between 20 and 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Tuesday: A chance of snow showers before 2pm, then a slight chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. West wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
