These two maps show forecasted precipitation for the month of January, 2014. The darkest red spots = more snow! However, much of this precipitation will likely come towards the end of the month meaning 2-3 more weeks of dry weather for the Tahoe area which has seen virtually no snow this season.

  9. Mr. Need more snow says:

It’s nice know where it will dump “over there”
But how about us readers from europe and skandinavia
    We also need the snow…

  10. Randal says:

I live in NW Louisiana-Shreveport. You might think I am crazy to expect any snow here. But we used to have several snow falls or ice storms a year. I recall snow days in school. I recall after I had been married and had my kids it would get cold enough that I would sometimes buy an extra bag of ice [to add to drinks-duh], and store it on my front porch, because it was that cold. In 1982, the Red River and Cross Lake froze over-people driving all around. Temp about 0*, maybe -1 or 2. But this decade has been so warm. I know its climate change–just wish we could change. I have to go to Canada to get my snow.

Theres something wrong with those maps… It seems to suggest that it will snow in Tahoe. I just don’t see that happening.

  13. Westlowsnow says:

Don’t get me wrong, i am missing the snow.
