The City of Round Rock, Texas is considering building an urban lift system similar to the one found in Rio de Janeiro (Gondolas in Rio de Janeiro?). The city, which is located outside of Austin, is looking to alleviate traffic by building “ski lifts” to connect people to different points of the city. Designer Michael McDaniel says that, “The ball park is $12 million a mile or up, but when you take that compared to the current proposed light rail here in Austin estimates for that are a $100 million a mile.”

I’m no meteorologist but $12 mil is much cheaper than $100 mil ?
This is the same technology they want to use for the Golden to Breck interconnect.
i’ve never ridden in a gondola when its 105 degrees outside, but im guessing its pretty sweaty.
