I’ve been skiing 120-170 days a year for 21 years now. No health insurance, car needs work, but I have 11 skis in the quiver and nothing’s more than 3 years old. I take every winter off and work my ass off in the summer. Not using my degree in aforementioned line of work. It’s not any harder than any other life, for me it would be impossible to work in an office for even one day. If you decide this is the life then make the change you want to see. No one will do it for you and time is running out. You’re not gettin any younger!

Cool story bro. Maybe sell 8-9 pairs of skis and use the money for health insurance?

Oh yeah, you said you are purposely NOT using your education…

Plenty of people bust their a$$es for near minimum, or barely living, wages and their employers have no intention of ever offering them any insurance- or other benefits. And these are college graduates from places who sold them a degree putting them in debt – preparing them for jobs that don’t exist. Not everybody can select the parents that put them in the proper private school…. that’s 21 years of skiing/temp work, he must be doing something creative to pull that off. He’s using his education, alright. Plenty of 45 year olds are always going, if only, if only….
