Columbia Sportswear is hosting the Ski Bum Scholarship contest in which one lucky winner will get to live it up like a trust-founder for 90 days. The Grand Prize winner will only be asked to provide two updates per week through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You can apply by uploading a video essay as to why you should be the winner of the Ski Bum Scholarship. The Deadline is Dec 8, 2012 and the winner will be announced in mid-December.
The Columbia Ski Bum Scholarship covers:
- Airfare to and from Colorado
- A pluch, 90-day condo in Dillon, CO Season
- Pass access to Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Steamboat, Winter Park/Mary Jane, and Arapahoe Basin
- A four-wheel-drive rental car
- A generous daily food stipend

Dillon, LMAO, and Summit County skiing, Why don’t you run a contest that lets you live in a real ski area where it’s not easy to ski bum it. Dillon is a ghetto and summit skiing is pretty cheap mostly because it’s flat, the snowpack sucks and it never snows consistantly.
why not run the contest where winning actually lets someone ski some real terrain that isnt affordable. For instance, do this contest for Jackson, a bad ass place in Europe or Canada and then someone might put more effort into a video and you might have yourself a real competetition
sorta agree, but with the exception of loveland and abasin, summit is not that cheap to ski in. keystone and breck are pretty expensive. but they still suck.

This is cool, but I’m set in Whistler. You can’t beat Whistler Blackcomb with another single resort in North America, love it. And I’ve skiied all over the American West Coast, so I am not pulling that out of my ass.
On that note. Just Looove how political this is getting. And bite the hand that feeds (your resort’s economy), will ya, guys? Tourists can be mostly avoided on the mountain anyways, if you know your resort properly. And don’t go out on nights you know are high-traffic-tourist-times. Wake up early and beat the tourists to the pow.
