Canadian skier Sarah Burke is still in critical condition and no further word of recovery has been heard since her family canceled a scheduled news conference on Monday.

It has been confirmed by hospital officials that Burke went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated on the hill after her crash last week. This news is extremely troubling and has implications that the consequences of the initial crash were in fact far worse than many were led to believe.

“Hospital officials in Utah con-firmed Monday that Squamish free-style skier Sarah Burke went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated on the hill after her crash during a halfpipe training run at Park City Mountain Resort in Utah, last week.” – Vancouversun.com

We still anxiously await further good news of Burke’s recovery, and continue to keep her in our thoughts.
