RS1 presents a new type of ski design with this ski, having a pivot point located behind the heel. The pivot point allows the tail of the ski to swing out and provide easy initiation of turns. The inspiration for the pivot point comes from the way a fish uses its tail to swim through the water. The ski is a fully operational prototype and seems like a cool idea for anyone who enjoys perfectly groomed corduroy. The concept is intriguing to say the least, even if it isn’t meant for the steep and deep.

I hope to see this at SIA this January! Interesting concept.
Don’t get me wrong – we should strive for innovation. But this smacks of useless gimmick.
looks like power arms and light indicators
We talked about this on AlpineZone about a month ago, and one of the reps from the company chimed in. See here –> http://forums.alpinezone.com/showthread.php?113357-Hinged-ski-design-this-is-an-interesting-concept-the-rs1ski
sounds like a torn acl to me
I feel sorry for whoever wasted their money on researching/prototyping this technology. Do they even ski…?
This is useless
gappers be gappin
gaper gona gape!
Or you could just learn how to ski. This thing will ensure that it’s users will never progress beyond intermediate.
These should become the official rental ski of Northstar. These remind me of the ski version of the Medicus golf club.
