Back before snowboarding changed the way people skied, skiers were still laying down some gnarly lines.  Starting in 1991, the World Extreme Championship would gather a group of ripping skiers in Valdez, AK to crown a champ. This clip is from the second year of the comp when Garrett Bartelt crossed up his long, skinny skies at the top of tis run and had a quality fall.  The footage isn’t the best quality, but the sweet voice over makes up for that.

Whaddya mean “…snowboarding changed the way people ski…”? Bullshit!
I still have both feet pointing forward, and my hips and shoulders square to the fall line! Always have, always will!
The only impact snowboarding has on my skiing experience (besides, width/sidecut/rocker ratios and baggier skiwear) is that they FUCK UP the hill! Squared off bumps with no consistent line, ridiculous trenches and fuckin post-holes on traverses!
“…snowboarding changed the way people ski…”
    You’re an idiot!!!
