Ok, this PowSurf thing looks crazy fun. I definitely want to try it and see what it’s like. It looks very free. The main thing about surfing that has snowboarding and skiing beat is that you aren’t bolted onto the board. You can move your feet, repositions for different situations, drop a knee. On skis or boards, our clamped on and where you are positioned is where you’re positioned. On this PowSurf thing, you can move your feet freely. I like that.
Regardless of if you’re a skier or boarder, it’d be sweet to have one of these in your quiver. If nothing else, just for backyard sessions.
Do you guys think this looks fun as hell, too?
Who’s tried this?
who hasnt tried snowskating? i ride these things after every pow day they are so much fun, makes little cliffs and chutes ridiculously fun!!!
YEEE, what kind of snowsk8 do you have??? I have a Rossi (It’s actually made by Mervin / Lib-Tech) with the short ski. It’s hella fun on groomers and in the mini park, but if it gets deeper than a few inches of fresh, then not so much. I have been looking at getting a longer ski for the deeper stuff and some rocker trucks. Any suggestions (brands of ski, ski length, etc)???
pretty soon guys they’ll be making longboards, and guys will be “hangin’ ten.” or doing handstands on the boards. true progression of the sport, and I love it. looks hella fun.
were do i get one?

I actually invented Snurfing in the 20′s.
best brand for a ‘deep pow’ snow skate is Minus 7. they’re made in Truckee but they’re spendy! on the upside I’ve ridden it at Squaw, Sugarbowl, Siuerra at Tahoe, and they actually host an event at Donner ski Ranch. super fun but of course they’ll never nudge out real skiing.
just looked it up, theses things cost a lot too! at that price just pro-form a pair of Gotamas
I own 2 skateboard sized snowskates and 2 “deep pow” long bi-deck snowskates (151 and 145), as well as foam topped snowboards, but to be honest nothing comes close to the feeling and function of ripping pow on my Grassroots powsurfer.
