The Powder Watch we issued last week for New England has now been upgraded to a WARNING!   Snowfall will break out over Southern New England by Wednesday Morning and work it’s way into New Hampshire, Vermont and Southern Maine during the daylight hours.  Expect very heavy snow (2-3 inches per hour) Wednesday morning focused over the Berkshires (Catmount Ski Area), NY/MA border, extending into southern Vermont by mid morning.  The target areas appear to be from Western MA through southern and central Vermont early Wednesday extending into southern Maine and New Hampshire by Noon.   Some rain is possible along the coast late Wednesday (Warmer air works in) so stay inland for the best chances of heavy snow. Central Maine (Sunday River) might see the heaviest snow by late Wednesday into Thursday. Sugarloaf would also be a great Thursday Pick!

A secondary low develops over central and northern Vermont on Thursday morning so areas fromKillington north to Sugarbush will see additional moderate to heavy snowfall.

Chasing In New England?

You might be able to chase from the Berkshires or southern Vermont Wednesday to North Conway or central Maine on Thursday for double dippings. We don’t’ often mention the chase. The early arrival of this storm on Wednesday over the Berkshires will make it possible to catch snow again further north on Thursday!   The secondary low that develops over Central and northern Vermont on Thursday may also bring a quick 4-9 inches to most areas from Killington and North.

Show showers are likely to continue in New England on Friday.

Should be a good week. Seasons pass (check) new boots (check) and all new setup on the way. Plus some stashes in the woods. Should be a good time doing some East coast pow hunting at the river
