Squaw Valley celebrated it’s first day of skiing with a one day fundraiser event to support the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski Team Foundation. Skiing was limited to the bottom half of Exhibition from the Searchlight chair but with all the fresh snow it was better then you might think. Make no mistake about it, this was a very cool thing for Squaw Valley to do. It was a win win! Locals got to go skiing and money was raised for the Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows Ski Team Foundation. Here are some photos from this morning’s opening.

why do posts like this get downvoted so often? is there something im missing, or are they just consistently downvoted by bitter people who hate when questions are asked/real life is mentioned?

it’s as weird as the people who apparently hate squaw so much that they click on every single squaw article so they can leave some angry comment. i dont get it

cuz there is no place for sarcasm and negativity on the internet.

But seriously, why harsh the mellow with comments like “probably tracked as fuck” and “Only one run” “WROD’s are gay and I’m too core for that shit” ??

Then why do you even have to post here douchebag?

Any idiot knows Squaw gets tracked in less time than it takes for a two pump chump to get off, sound familiar.

actually i do. he offers a real counter to unofficial and their readers that comes off as witty and educated by pretending to be even more of a squallywood local than you. He has kept the site “in check” and i really would love to see a weekly heckler article bashing on all the guys who get hard ons for the chimney and hate on alpine. He has become a staple of unofficial.

I showed up around crack of noon, pretty much what it looked like. Yeah, it was kind of tracked, it’s Exhibition to the mid station, who shows up expecting ski powder? It was fun to be skiing on snow for the first time in months, yeah, but you’re right squaw pretty much sucks because all the powder in October gets tracked too soon, probably wasn’t even worth going huh?

When I hear “Foundation” I think of cancer patients, dying kids, or starving kids in Africa. What does not come to mind is supporting rich little kids to fly across the country so they can race in their little spiderman outfits.

It would be rad if Unofficial was really Unofficial. Thanks for the early season turns Squaw. Thanks for ruining unofficial Andy.

And Squaw raised $11,000 for the new foundation. Unofficial is still Unofficial, Squaw is still rad and skiing for $10 before the official opening day in OCTOBER is very cool.
