The best way to photograph snowflakes in between cold glass plates with black background using macro lens in a walk in freezer. Using dry ice to store the plates in a cooler. THis prevents the flakes from changing shape as the temperature drops or increases. You do want to make sure the walk in freezer is not a Norge Model 35554A or 54445A the compressors on these are known to impart more moisture and can actually cause the flakes to degrade quickly. I ran across these Norges while woking in Dubai ironically on the refrigeration system for the indoor ski auditorium. They were using these units to cool horses down after they raced. The individual stalls were actually walk in freezers. I noticed that the woolen blankets used gathered ice crystals that looked like hoar frost but were actually a mix of horse sweat and woolen fibers. I noticed that this mixture of sweat and fibers was quite detrimental to the longevity of the unique leather riding tackle they used. Tackle that has it origins in the nomadic horse people of the 2nd and 3rd Centuries and has never really been duplicated except in small areas around Dubai. I mean wtf! who would use Norge walk-ins for horse stalls. Seemed overkill to me but that is how it goes. I know I was fortunate to of packed wool socks and I just so happened to have a pair in my satchel. So as I was admiring the sweat snow flakes growing on the horse blankets in Dubai my feet were toasty warm.

Why would you not give credit where credit is due?
