Get ready to feel good. You have to read this story first though for the good feeling to be had. I guess that’s why they call it a feel good story. Monique van der Vorst had been paralyzed from the hip down since she was 13-years-old, but after an accident in 2010 Monique regained the use of her legs.
Monique was a two time silver medalist in handcycling at the Beijing Paralympics and in 2010, after an accident in which she fell out of her wheelchair and spent a long period in the hospital, Monique began to feel her paralyzed legs tingle and eventually spent months re-learning how to use her legs again.
She said she felt like a child learning to walk.
Monique now has here sights set on becoming an Olympic triathlete; but without the wheelchair this time. Look out for Monique in 2016 and beyond.

I read an article about an deaf man who went skiing with his grandson, and when they were riding the chairlift up the mountain his ears popped because of the pressure difference and he could suddenly hear.
This is slightly more impressive than that one, but both are pretty cool.
Awesome
Monique- I love the shots of you beaming, ebullient, ad filled with the unbridled enthusiasm of a Golden Doodle. Love to meet you sometime; your energy is combustible!
