In case you haven’t heard, New Zealand’s winter season started off with a big old storm.  Arthurs Pass is around 2 hours outside of Christchurch and got over three feet of snow. This is some footage of a train coming into the city from the pass.  Imagine how deep the riding would be when the trains are getting in the white room.  Could be a good season to buy a ticket down there.

Arthur’s is the business. Stay at the sanctuary ($18 a night) and ski temple and the surrounding terrain. Mt. Rolleston is a must!
