The question has to be:  Does this make you wanna protect the ocean? I think it does, for me at least.  I also appreciate beautiful girls and tropical surf breaks, so Surfrider is preaching to the choir with me.  Come to think of it, this calendar was made for Surfriders members, so they were preaching to the choir the whole time.

I am curious what you guys and gals think?  Is this sort of campaign effective?

The Surfrider Foundation is a 27 year old organization that organizes surfers and ocean lovers and unites them in the fight to save the Earth’s oceans from pollution and destruction.

So did they have Oil Containment set up around the shoots in the water or did they just let it go. I can’t see any kind of containment. Save the oceans by polluting it? Did they have the EPA doing studies on the effect of this photo shoot on the environment. A good replacement would have been chocolate sauce.

Don’t get me wrong I love looking at these beauties barely covered, but come on Surfrider?! They are letting oil leak into the oceans? Even cleaning it up is going to leave behind some kind of residual effect.

My thoughts exactly…then I started to think about the amount of natural petroleum seeps on the ocean floor in the Gulf of Mexico and SoCal coast. None-the-less could be bad PR move by Surfrider.

Clearly these images are photoshopped. Anyone who thinks the SurfRider Foundation would pollute the ocean in any way is a friggin idiot.

As far as I am concerned, they may be onto something for the ladies. Expensive clothing that washes off with warm water….. Oh wait, body paint already had that covered. Sorry Surfriders, oily bikini = no bueno
