Congratulations to Switzerland’s Lara Gut-Behrami who clinched her second overall Wold Cup title Sunday making her the oldest woman to win the overall at 32 years old.

Gut-Behrami trailed 5-time overall champion Mikaela Shiffrin by 420 points when Shiffrin got injured in a crash on January 26th. Shiffrin was sidelined for the next 11 races while she rehabbed her knee. During Shiffrin’s absence, Gut-Behrami won five races and took commanding 282-point lead over her next closest competitor.

After her performance in Saalbach, Austria, Gut-Behrami mathematically secured the title and overtook fellow Swiss skier Vreni Schneider who was previously the oldest woman to win an overall, at age 30 in 1995.

Cheers to an excellent season Lara.
