The town of Mammoth Lakes, California has filed for Bankruptcy following a $43-million breach-of-contract judgment brought against the town by a developer. Town officials said that bankruptcy “is the only option that the town is left with”. In order to assure the safety of residents and tourists the town plans to ask the bankruptcy court to approve a 10-year payment plan of about $500,000 a year.

The town of Mammoth didn’t do their homework and now are paying the price. People should be yelling at the town officials.

The worst part is that by Mammoth Lakes backing out of the deal most likely saved the developer a lot of money due to the economic down turn.

It’s a frivolous lawsuit based on lost profit from a hotel development out by the airport that the FAA would have never allowed. The town could’ve used a better attorney.

The town should have never been invovled in a private business venture in the first place. They earned the lawsuit every step of the way. The town of Mammoth is a shit hole and the people that live there are shit eaters.

He asserted that in the worst-case scenario, the average Mammoth customers would see monthly water bills increase from about $24 to $35. The same amount of water costs a Los Angeles customer $43 a month, he said.

Seriously? People are upset over this? I can imagine some of the locals sitting at their local watering hole bitching about this while they drink a $5 beer.
