Las Leñas has continued to receive small top-ups of fresh snow in the past week. While two inches of pow on top of ice may not ski well by itself, there have been some really nice turns to be found in the right wind loaded spots.
This video shows a couple of those right wind loaded spots – Icaro and Hourglass. Riders are Matthias Weichelsbaumer, Jordi Tenas, Txema Trull, and Alejo Sanchez. Thanks to Matthias for the POV footage.
Looking forward, Las Leñas should be receiving snow this Wednesday and Thursday (22nd and 23rd). Friday is supposed to be clear and windless, so it could be an all-time day. It is hard to put much stock in that report however, since we have been forecasted to receive snow every single week for the past two months, and haven’t seen any of it.

Ikaro should be called sickaro, its pretty wide looking right know. The hour glass looks amazing. So Lee can you connect the dots or is it a mandatory walk out the El Returno? Are most of the north faces skiable? Manhatten, Principita, Moulin Rouge?? Just trying to get an idea how things are holding up….
Up high things are filled in pretty well. Down low or north facing, not so much. Sans nom return, lower portions of the labyrinth, etc are melted out. Manhattan is filled in well, Principito has a small rock traverse at the bottom, Mouline Rouge is filled in.
It’s snowing right now!
Thanks for the input I really appreciate it….
Forgot to mention you ripped Ikaro. It’s a pretty sick line just knowing how steep and narrow it is, you made it look easy!
Those were my friends Jordi and Txema skiing Icaro. They did rip it!
That must mean you were on the camera. Great camera angle. I’m guessing you were on the ridge to Edwardo’s somewhere? Who is this stinky guy, he sounds like a dork…..
glad im not there…going sailing this weekend.
