There is little question that Jackson Hole’s Corbet’s Couloir is one of the most famous and challenging runs in North America. Here is a clip from a Corbet’s session from last march.

by

Last March, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Teton Gravity Research athletes took to the infamous Corbet’s Couloir to put on a show of epic proportions.

In this clip a skier claims that Corbet’s is “The Steepest Gnarliest inbounds run in the World”. What do YOU think?

uhh…. I’m sure there are dozens and dozens of examples that are much tougher and inbounds, but one that obviously comes to mind would be Highline on McConkey’s @ Squaw. Schmidiots too.

Since this was shot in March, snow has accumulated and the entrance is a sideslip allowing any gaper to enter. If you hit Corbet’s earlier in the season it’s a mandatory 20 footer followed by some pretty technical turns. Not saying it’s the gnarliest but it’s certainly not overrated. The gnarliest is actually S&S couloir at Jackson skiers right of Corbet’s.

I’ll admit Corbet’ sis overrated most days. When it is tits, IT IS TITS!!! JHMR over-promotes that so much, that I don’t wanna deal with the line up at times. Luckily there are a lot ill lines in the JH slackcountry less people go to.

More like the most famously overrated mountain in the world. Europe makes this place look like a bunny hill.

Who cares. Skiing the USA is pathetic at best, highest vert. drop 4200 ft or so, boring.

‘Steepest gnarliest inbounds run in the world.’ Dude you need to actually go somewhere besides America. What silly bias, but then again you’ve probably been drinking the Cool-aid again.

the west is bigger. the drop is only 20 or so if that, just a gnardly run for the masses, not for serious skiers…..
