Now for Something Completely Different

66-year-old Steve Gustafson was trimming his oak tree outside his Florida home when he heard his 9-year-old West Highland Terrier cry out in pain. Gustafson poochie, Bounce, was being held by the collar and shoulder in the mouth of a 7-foot-long alligator. The alligator was attempting to pull the dog into a nearby pond within the retirement community. ”I just knew that my best friend was going to be dead,” Gustafson said. “And I took off. ”For whatever reason, I don’t know, I just yelled, ‘you’re not going to get her!’ and just leaped on the gator …(orlandosentinel.com After flinging himself onto the gator Gustafson managed to pry open the gators jaws freeing his friend.  Neither the dog nor the human suffered any serious injuries.
