Change In Weather Pattern For Tahoe - US National Weather Service Reno Nevada

Mild temperatures and light winds are expected this weekend with some valley locations reaching the 60 degree mark on Saturday afternoon. The image on the left is water vapor satellite imagery Friday afternoon showing the area of high pressure and the dry conditions (orange shaded areas) that will continue through the weekend. A transition to colder and more active weather is likely by early next week as an area of low pressure moves into the west, as indicated by the jet stream forecast in the image on the right. Winds will increase Monday into Tuesday with much colder temperatures and snow possible Tuesday into Wednesday. Best chances for snow remain in the Sierra, where totals will generally be under a foot.

Shoot. Fresh snow will just ruin the ideal conditions we have been experiencing.

    and so it goes

“A STRONG 140KT JET MAX DROPPING DOWN THE WESTERN
SIDE OF THE TROUGH WILL KEEP THE TROUGH MAINLY TO THE WEST OF THE
SIERRA CREST, WITH STRONGEST DYNAMICS MISSING THE SIERRA AND
DROPPING INTO SOUTHERN CA. IN FACT, THE 00Z GFS IS NOW KEEPING
ALMOST ALL OF THE PRECIPITATION ALONG THE COASTAL RANGES OF
CALIFORNIA AND SHOWING VERY LITTLE PRECIP IN THE SIERRA AT ALL.

So what do I do ? Continue to put out rain bait in the yard and driveway, so it snows up the hill, or start putting stuff inside ?… thinks about runs with no snowmaking…. okay, next step, time to hang laundry out on the line :)
